A Summary of Global Health Initiative Strategies in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia

The Global Health Initiative (GHI) is an integrated approach to global health launched by President Obama in 2009. The GHI has seven core principles that form the basis for country strategies. This policy brief looks at how the “integration” principle (#5) and to a lesser degree the “country ownership” principle (#2) are applied to FP/RH and HIV/AIDS services and civil society engagement in the GHI country strategies in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia.
