The U.S. spent $1 billion on maintenance of empty buildings in a year. Couldn’t that money be better spent empowering women and giving them access to the modern contraceptives they want?

We think so.

Fortunately, countries and other donors are joining together to help women gain access to modern contraceptives, and it’s time for the U.S. to pay its fair share. To help 222 million women access modern contraceptives, the U.S. only needs to contribute .03% of its federal budget to international family planning, or $1 billion. That’s just $3 from each American.
