Today, representatives from 47 nations and countless civil society organizations are gathering at the United Nations in New York for the 47th Commission on Population and Development (CPD). The purpose of this year’s CPD is to review 20 years of progress since the milestone International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), held in Cairo, Egypt, in 1994.
