As part of PAI’s work on maternal and reproductive health supplies, PAI staff participated in a meeting of the Resource Mobilization and Awareness Working Group (RMAWG) of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) in Brussels. Roughly half of the participants were advocates from the Global South, all of whom were supported by PAI and Advance Family Planning.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss budget and district level advocacy around reproductive health supplies, and the importance of keeping the focus on women and girls as part of the new Sustainable Development Goals. Southern colleagues sought to capitalize on the efforts of the working group to improve access to quality maternal health supplies.
The RMAWG will refine its work plan in the coming months to support post-Summit accountability and monitoring. PAI is also providing technical assistance to selected applicants to the Small Grants Initiative for Civil Society Partners of the Global South supported by the Innovation Fund of the RHSC. Currently, PAI is assisting Marie Stopes Tanzania, Global Hope Mobilization Malawi and Christian Connections for International Health in the development of funding proposals that advance the reproductive health supplies agenda at country and regional levels.
